The Sound Of Silence - DA StatementSo Eclipse is Coming
SEE MY LATEST JOURNAL ON THIS HERE:
I'd like to organize a proactive event to show DA the possible results of a permanent Eclipse change-over. Instead of deactivating your accounts for good, or indefinitely boycotting the site, I'd like to make a Statement of Silence for those Users against Eclipse. Starting May 1st, I will not be active on Deviantart. I will not submit new deviations, journals or even visit the site for 3 Days time. From 12:00AM CST May 1st to 12:00am May 4th. (3 days) I ask all other Users who wish to keep old Deviantart to join me in this statement of silence.
Not Only Is Eclipse Difficult to Navigate, It is so close to Plagiarism it isnt funny. How they aren't in a Lawsuit with Artstation is beyond me!

Hello everyone, I know every internet user is fighting for Net Neutrality, but there is something coming up on the horizon and it's not very pleasant, right now in Europe, the copyright law bills article 13 and 11 (also known as ACTA 2 (*same thing*) ) are creating nothing more but more and more internet censorship and it will go into effect on July 5th, 2018, not only those these bills will effect the people in Europe, but wait until it'll leak out into the United States and maybe globally if this progressed any further, this means no more sharing or creating memes, remixes, discussion platforms like Reddit, sharing parodies or making parodies, ability to link, threatens blogging platforms like Tumblr, and Wordpress, threatens gamers that livestream and podcasters, DJ's, Technologists, Artists, Musicians, Gamers, and all content creators around the world and globally, these bills will threaten our freedom of speech, to share information, express ourselves, etc. But the European Parliament can stop these bills and save our freedom of speech and stop it from going into effect and attempting to leak out into the US and globally, please spread this journal around and do kindly sign these petitions, both of these petitions almost met their goals, both from Change.org.
What is Article 13???
Article 13 requires in practice that almost all internet platforms install a "filter robot" which automatically checks all uploaded content. This unduly restricts freedom of expression before it can be used. Content censorship decision is left to error-prone and oversensitive algorithms (programmed to "play it safe" and erase anything that creates a risk for the platform in case of doubt).
From SaveTheInternet: The European Parliament's Legal Affairs Committee adopted the draft Copyright Directive on 20 June, paving the way for a vote in plenary session on 4 July. Now it is up to all MEPs to decide against the anti-freedom bill.

What is Article 11???
In ancillary copyright law (Article 11), it is stipulated that the content of certain information providers will in future be subject to specific media law. This means that already quoted texts could be declared a copyright infringement.
A large part of the providers of news on the net will be affected by this, since the use of external links will be restricted or paid.
From SaveTheIntenet: Research and progress are also suffering from Article 11. In the future, users, such as independent researchers, journalists, individuals and various companies, will be denied text and data mining. This has a slowing effect on various discoveries of public interest.

The Vote is Tomorrow

Net Neutrality is under attack, but come to think of it, I been hearing some good news and some bad news but do everything you can to call your representatives, senators, etc. Ajit Pai wants to gut the existing rules and we cannot let this go, take some time to read some journal entries, statuses, etc. and go here: www.battleforthenet.com/

Tomorrow will NOT be the end of the Net NeutralityRegardless of what happens tomorrow, know that even if Pai wins this battle in the war to get rid of Net Neutrality (by that i mean the vote passing.), it won't mean he's won outright. There's still a long process he has to go through which'll take at least a year to do, and he'll need to convince the courts, should they intervene (and there's a strong chance they will) that this is the best course of action. Pai has no evidence that it will work, he has no proof that it's hurt internet providers, and no logical argument to back his decision. Add to that his purposeful ignorance and obstruction into the investigation about the spam/fake comments during the open comment period, and Pai's strategy is nothing more than a wobbly house of cards, an unstable Jenga tower, that'll eventaully collapse in catastrophic fashion. It's destined to fail, maybe not right away, but it will in the long run.

People be blessed! Sean puts the foot down on Pai's ignorant Net Neutrality repeal, and also Pai actually gets caught as he not only tried repealing Net Neutrality, but he did it through ILLEGAL means as well! This is why he refused to listen, because he wanted to cheat his way into forcing this to happen for once. But thankfully he had been investigated, and now only FOUR days before the vote would even pass, Sean's actions flat out HALTED Pai's crud before it got worse. Okay, we're not exactly out of the woods yet. Just because somebody introduced a bill to prevent the FCC from repealing Net Neutrality doesn't mean we should let our guard down. Keep fighting for the freedom of the Internet and Freedom of Speech!
To all who saw and fave the previous journal, I apologize if the miracle wasn't as effective as we all thought. BUT!!!! We're still fighting for the rights and no need to panic too much! I believe the whole mess is still being opposed. With enough calls and signed petitions, Ajit Pai's plan will be stopped in no time! I just know it will! Although this was back in November, I have to strongly agree that Ajit screwed up more than we bargained for.

Congress just don't know when to quit, now they're messing with Net Neutrality, last week we made history and protested against the throttling, blocking, and censoring and paying extra fees, now Ajit Pai, the former top lawyer for Verizon, Comcast and AT&T has made it clear that he don't gives a sh*t what the public thinks at all, he just wast to give cable companies that used to work for exactly what they want: the power to control what we see and what we do online, our members of congress have oversight over the FCC and they have to answer to US: their constituents. Fight For The Net has unveiled a "scorecard" so they cannot hide, please, defend net neutrality and please, it's up to us, the people to protest against crooked congressmen and hold them accountable for this, do this for the internet, do it for the art, do it for Team Internet, please sign this to defend the *existing* net neutrality.
